TEI Group awarded contract with Tishman Construction to install four traction elevators, one hydraulic elevator, and one private residence elevator in this full block, Ian Schrager, West Village luxury condominium.

OVERVIEW
This very attractive, 12-story apartment building at 160 Leroy Street in the West Village was designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the designs of the Olympic "Bird's Nest" Stadium in Beijing, 40 Bond Street and 56 Leonard Street. It is being developed by Ian Schrager, the builder of 40 Bond Street, the Vector Group that is headed by Howard Lorber, chairman of Douglas Elliman, and the Witkoff Group that is headed by Steve Wykoff. They bought a stake in 156-162 Leroy Street in 2013 and 357-363 West Street that was owned by Area Property Partners, which is headed by Richard Mack. In 2013 Area announced it was being acquired by Ares Management.

The building, which is across from Pier 40, is due for completion in 2016. It will have about 50 condominium apartments. An earlier plan called for about 88 apartments.
